John Stuart Society

The University of Dayton was founded on faith. In 1850, John Stuart sold his 120-acre farm to the Marianists. The collateral? A medal of St. Joseph and a promise.

John Stuart’s belief in the Marianists and their vision for education changed the world. That farm has become a community reaching across time — reaching beyond borders.

We continue to branch out as a national Catholic research university. Today we lead the nation in federally sponsored materials research. We have a top-10 entrepreneurship program. And we embrace our Marianist heritage — looking at the signs of the times and acting boldly to move forward in faith.

Members of the John Stuart Society share this bold vision with a cumulative giving of over $100,000. You believe in the Marianist mission of the University of Dayton, and you have faith that your support will propel us even further forward.

John Stuart Society members are the leaders of our University — the guardians of our shared future. Join us.
