Application and Eligibility, Spring 2013

To live in the GLLC, students must be willing to commit to the goals and expectations of the GLLC.

Member of the Global Learning Living Community are expected to:

  1. Attend the welcome day in the spring semester (February 2013, date to be determined), and the end-of-the-year celebration in the spring (April 2013, date to be determined).
  2. Actively participate in GLLC programming, including monthly international meals and dialogues.
  3. Serve as a student leader for internationalization and intercultural dialogue on campus. This may be done by leading programming in the GLLC; connecting with the first-year Cross-Cultural Learning Living Community; and/or participation in other intercultural opportunities on campus including membership in the International Club or volunteering as a conversation group member or tutor for the Intensive English Program

The community is open to 1) U.S. and international sophomores, juniors and seniors; 2) conditionally admitted undergraduates and IEP only, ages 20-25; and 3) exchange and visiting international students, ages 20-25. Students may apply as individuals or in groups of two, three or four. Placement based on availability.

Criteria that will impact the selection process will include the student’s essay, GPA, discipline background and overall expressed interest and commitment to intercultural learning. Students with 500 or more discipline points will not be permitted to live in the GLLC.
