Arrival Resources
As a new international student at the University of Dayton, we understand you will have many questions when you first arrive. Please review the information below, and on the arrival and orientation page, to help make your transition to the U.S. a positive experience.
Linen Packages
Students living in University housing must bring their own linens. The Center for International Programs has a limited supply of linen packages available to new international students on a first-come, first-serve basis. The package is $95 and includes:
2 extra long flat sheets
2 extra long fitted sheets
2 standard pillowcases
1 standard pillow
1 Vellux blanket
1 extra long mattress pad
3 cotton bath towels
2 hand towels
2 washcloths
Linen packages will be available for students to pick up during regular business hours beginning Monday, August 13 at 8:30 a.m. (eastern standard time) in the Rike Center.
Cell phones
If you plan to use a cell phone during your time at the University of Dayton, please note that the cell phone you use in your home country may not work in the U.S. Some students purchase new phones upon arrival.
The nearest cell phone retailer is T-Mobile, located at:
1147 Brown St
Dayton, OH 45409
Phone: 937-586-0562
For $50/month, a student can sign up for a no-contract plan. These plans are idea for students who do not have Social Security Numbers (the majority of new international students do not) and/or have brought a cell phone to the U.S. If you take this option, T-Mobile will provide a SIM card to access their network. For an additional $10/month, you can add unlimited international talk/text. Check with T-Mobile to see if your country qualifies.
Students can also sign up for a contract plan and choose from a wide selection of phones in store.
