Please review this important information before you arrive on campus. Following these steps will ensure that the International Student and Scholar Services office and other offices on campus, including Housing and Registration, can best prepare for your arrival.

Before you arrive
Arrival Form
All new international students must complete the arrival form at least two weeks prior to arrival on campus. The information you provide will help us prepare for your arrival on campus.
Arriving to Campus
If you are arriving for the summer term, please arrange for a taxi cab to take you from the airport to your destination. Plan to arrive on campus during regular business hours, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. If you arrive after regular business hours, please stay in a hotel until the next business day.

Housing
The Center for International Programs does not arrange housing for students, and the University does not offer temporary housing. Please arrange your housing before you arrive in Dayton, Ohio, or arrange to stay in a hotel until you find housing.
To arrange housing on campus, use your University username and password to complete the housing application online at http://myhousing.udayton.edu. If you do not have your username and password, contact the Office of Residence Life at housing@udayton.edu or +1 937-229-3317.
Confirm your housing assignment with the Office of Residence Life before arriving in Dayton, Ohio. University housing for new international students for the summer term will be available beginning Sunday, May 13 at 8 a.m. Students arriving before May 13 will need to find temporary housing off campus.
Immunization
All students are required to show evidence of two Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR) vaccines. Additionally, if living in on-campus housing, students must provide dates of one Meningitis and three Hepatitis B vaccine dates OR sign the vaccine disclosure statement in Section B of the Health Requirements form. Additionally, students are required to complete a questionnaire to screen for Tuberculosis. Students must download the form at the following Web site, and the student's form must be filled out and signed by his or her physician and returned by fax or mail. To do this, please download the Health Requirements Form.
If you fail to do this before you arrive, the University will require you to either submit the signed form or have the vaccinations and TB test in Dayton upon arrival at your expense. Students who are unable to do this or do not do this in a timely fashion will not be allowed to register for second semester classes.
Linen Packages
The Center for International Programs offers a linen package for new international students. The package is $95 and includes:
2 extra long flat sheets
2 extra long fitted sheets
2 standard pillowcases
1 standard pillow
1 Vellux blanket
1 extra long mattress pad
3 cotton bath towels
2 hand towels
2 washcloths
Please indicate on the arrival form if you want to purchase a linen package. There is a limited supply. Linen packages will be available to pick up during regular business hours, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Center for International Programs.
After you arrive
Immigration Check-In
All new international students must report to the International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) office for immigration check-in, a requirement under F-1 regulations. Immigration check-in is Friday, May 18 at 1 p.m. You will receive an immigration check-in ticket at International Student Orientation (see below). Without this ticket, you cannot attend immigration check-in. If you do not complete immigration check-in, you jeopardize your ability to stay in the U.S. legally.
Please bring the following documents to check-in:
- Passport
- I-94 Arrival/Departure Record
- I-20 form (F-1) or DS-2019 form (J-1). Please bring all pages of these forms.
- Proof of insurance. All University of Dayton students are required to carry health insurance. If you do not have health insurance at the time of your arrival, you will be automatically enrolled in the University's healthcare plan.
Orientation
Orientation for Undergraduate, Graduate and Exchange students
Bridges: International Student Orientation (BISO) for undergraduate, graduate and exchange students is Tuesday, May 15, 3 to 6 p.m., in Sears Recital Hall. BISO is mandatory.
Testing and Orientation for Intensive English Program students
Placement testing for new students in the Intensive English Program is Monday, May 14 at 8:30 a.m. in the Rike Center room 205. IEP Orientation is Tuesday, May 15 at 9 a.m. in the Rike Center room 205. Both testing and orientation are mandatory for new IEP students.
Welcome Party
A welcome party for all new international students will be held in May. The date, time and location will be determined.
Student ID Card
Obtain your student ID card in the Campus One Card office, located in the Powerhouse. You will need a picture ID (like your passport) to get our student ID. The office is open Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
University Computer Log-in Information
Obtain your University username and password online. This is also the log-in information you use to confirm your enrollment. You may also obtain your University username and password at the Computer Help Desk, located in Miriam Hall room 053. The office is open Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. You will need your student ID in order to get your username and password from the Computer Help Desk.
Registering for Classes
Undergraduate students
Schedule classes through your dean’s office:

Graduate students
Schedule classes through your graduate program director. Select your program to find the program director’s contact information.
Intensive English Program students
You will be registered for classes after you take the placement tests and attend orientations.
Exchange students

Paying Your Bill
Students can pay their fees at the Bursar's office, located on the first floor of St. Mary's Hall.
