Alumni and Friends Network

The University of Dayton School of Law's goal is to have a strong and active network of Alumni and Friends around the country that will assist the School of Law, its graduates and its students in one of four areas:

Admission Student Recruitment

Janet Hein, assistant dean of admissions: by email or 937-229-3555

  • Serve as a participant for our monthly online chats with prospective and admitted students.
  • Host prospective and admitted student receptions.
  • Engage in one on one contact with desirable prospects/admits to encourage them to apply or to attend UDSL.
  • Represent UDSL at law forums and fairs across the country.

Career Services

Tim Swensen, assistant dean of career services: by email or 937-229-3215

  • Serve as interviewers for a mock interview program. Mock interviews with alumni who would provide constructive feedback could help our students immensely in their job search process in their efforts to honestly reflect on their strengths, weaknesses and goals.
  • Serve as contacts and "sounding boards" for students seeking employment in a particular geographical or practice area.
  • Serve as potential sources for clerkships, externships, internships and longer-term employment.

Alumni Events and Socials

Hon. Mary Kate Huffman, Alumni Association president: by email or 937-496-7955; or Tim Stonecash, assistant dean of external relations: by email or 937-229-3793

  • Serve on the Alumni Weekend Planning Committee.
  • Help organize and host regional alumni luncheons and receptions.
  • Help organize and promote the Hon. Carl Kessler Scholarship Golf Tournament.

Development

Deborah Adler, director of development: by email or 937-229-4764.

  • Assist in fundraising.
