Conte Garden Groundbreaking Ceremony
The University of Dayton School of Law will break ground on a garden honoring the memory of the late Dean Francis J. Conte on Friday, November 11. The ceremony is scheduled to begin at noon on the Keller Hall East Lawn.
The program is one of several programs planned in Keller Hall on November 11. The Alumni Association will hold its annual free CLE for UDSL alumni beginning at 8 a.m. The Alumni Association, Student Bar Association and Career Services Office will also host a free luncheon for alumni and students beginning at 12:15 p.m. The lunch offers alumni a chance to meet UDSL students and provides an opportunity for students to network with alumni.
Conte, who served the University of Dayton and its School of Law for nearly 25 years, died March 20, 2011. He joined Dayton Law in 1987 as dean, a position he held until 2001, making him the longest-serving dean in the School of Law’s history. After he stepped down as dean, he remained at the School of Law, returning to the classroom as a full-time professor. During his tenure as dean, he oversaw the fundraising campaign and construction of Joseph E. Keller Hall.
