HFE also is concerned with reducing the probability that a human will make an error in the operation, maintenance, or support of a system; and with the degree to which an individual is able to accomplish a task, or series of tasks, under specific conditions, to meet a specified standard. Ergonomics emphasizes the human's physical capabilities and limitations.
