Department of English Overview

The Department of English offers Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees. These programs prepare graduates to be literate, perceptive and competent readers and writers who are informed about their literary heritage and who are responsive to our culture and its needs. Our students also have many opportunities for study abroad, service-learning, independent research and creative writing.

Our graduates have been highly successful in pursuing advanced degrees and careers in a wide range of fields, including teaching, administration, law, and corporate communications.
