Music Technology

Students who have strong background, talent and interest in music but do not wish to major in music may elect a minor, consisting of one year's study each of music theory and music history, and 8 additional credits of electives, including a variety of music technology courses, including transcription and digital and recording media, as well as independent study opportunities for individual project development. Students will be accepted into the program with completion of an interview with the department chair and contingent upon classes having space available. The minor requires 22 semester hours and includes courses in music theory, transcription, and recording.
