Bachelors Plus Masters Program (Chemical)
Selected students can participate in the Bachelor's-Plus-Master's (BPM) program.
As part of this program, students earn a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering and a master's degree.

To successfully complete the BPM program, students must complete:
- All requirements of the bachelor's program
- 12 semester hours of required graduate courses in the major field
- 12 semester hours of electives in an area of interest as approved by their adviser and department chair
- 6 semester hours on an approved thesis project
University of Dayton undergraduate CME students with an engineering GPA of 3.00 or better at the time of application are eligible to apply. Students must submit a preliminary application to University's graduate school. Students who meet preliminary admission requirements will be provisionally accepted into the program and permitted to enroll in approved graduate courses.
Students admitted will continue to be classified as undergraduate students until all undergraduate degree requirements are completed. To maintain full-time status, 12 or more semester hours must be taken. Students will be charged the standard tuition and fee rates applicable to undergraduate students. At the completion of the undergraduate requirements, the student will be formally accepted into the graduate program, provided all entrance requirements are met. Graduate students must have a minimum GPA of 3.00 to obtain their graduate degree.
While all students are encouraged to complete a thesis, students supported by an assistantship or tuition scholarship from the department may be required to complete one. The thesis may be initiated during the junior year and continued until the time of graduation. The master's degree will be conferred at the successful completion of the graduate requirements.
