Read On! Book Drive

Imagine for a moment, a child without books in their home or a library within walking distance. Many children in surrounding communities are faced with this reality every day. Join the University of Dayton Libraries as we work to reach our goal of collecting 2,500 books by April 17, 2014. UD is one of many community partners collecting children's books for the Dayton organization Learn to Earn's annual Read On! book drive. With your help the Read On! book drive will collect 25,000 books to reach 2,500 students this year.

Donate new or gently used level 1 books/early readers (no chapter books, please). The collection point is at the Roesch Library Access Services desk in the first floor lobby. The drive will wrap up during National Library Week, April 14-17, 2014.

YOU can help us achieve our collection goal of 8-10 books per student at Fairview Elementary in Dayton, which will provide a new book for each week of summer break.

For more information, please email the Libraries' Read On! committee co-chairs at Kristina Klepacz and Joan Milligan.
