Bridging the period from Thanksgiving to Christmas – when “home” is a focus for us all, this exhibit presents 40 sets from around the world made of various materials that include a physical structure such as a stable, a house, a barn, a hut, a tent – Christ’s first home. The meaning of crèche, crib, and Krippe, presepe and Belen alludes to safety and warmth, to shelter and plenty. Bethlehem has always been “the house of bread”, and Christ’s manger sacred space.
