Chiam Gross (Austrian/American, 1904-?)

Gross is one of the most important American sculptors of his generation.  In this print, as in many other works, he celebrates his Jewish heritage.  With its depiction of the rabbi's love of the Scriptures, this could well be a poster for this exhibition.
