I have been active in Campus Ministry since 2007.
As a wild woman of Grace, and I enjoy spending time with my family, watching all movies except for scary ones, biking and hanging out with my friends.
I have a couple of Master¿s degrees in completely different fields than my undergraduate major, which was International Studies and Spanish. I have changed jobs several times by listening to the call of God. I am also the advisor to a religious organization (Phi Lambda Iota).
I am blessed with a wonderful husband, Doug, and two great children, Rachel and Danny.
Jim Pera
Campus Minister for Liturgical Music
Liberty Hall Room 210

James.Pera@notes.udayton.edu
Jim Pera has an extensive background in pastoral music, having served as Director of Music and Director of Liturgy for too many years to count in the Archdiocese of Cincinnati before coming to UD in the summer of 2007. It's a calling that began in grade school when his piano teacher (Sr. Frederick Maria, SCN) started teaching him to the play the organ for weekday masses. The rest, as they say, is history.
In his capacity as chapel "Music Director", Jim leads the music for the 10:00 AM Mass as well as all the major feasts and public celebrations held on campus throughout the year.
Jim also supervises a group of students known as "UGMM's". What are UGGM's, you ask? Well, they are UnderGraduate Music Ministers, students with the talent and a love of the liturgy who lead the music for many of the masses in the chapel and the residence halls.
When not on campus or at home with the "girls" (two female cats), look for Jim in the orchestra pit of a local theater playing the piano!

With over ten years of ministerial service to the Archdiocese of Cincinnati, Ellen Garmann is excited to become a part of the UD community. With an undergraduate degree in organ performance from Ohio University, she is excited to pursue her MA in Theological Studies. Ellen currently sits on the Archdiocesan subcommittees for Music and the Implementation of the Revised Roman Missal, as well as the executive board for the Cincinnati chapter of the National Association of Pastoral Musicians. A fourth generation music minister, Ellen is excited to be able to experience liturgy from places other than the choir loft. In her free time, she enjoys watching (and quoting) movies, reading, photography, and spending time with her husband and two cats.
