New York Times Best-selling Author Bruce Cameron to Speak on Campus

09.22.2005 | Culture and Society, Campus and CommunityCameron wrote the New York Times' best-seller, 8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter, which was turned into a television sitcom starring the late John Ritter. His latest book, How to Remodel a Man, focuses on men, which he describes as "a far greater problem than teens" and "a much more disturbing issue." Cameron claims he's an expert on the subject: "I've lived among them, I can speak their language, some of my best friends are men." Cameron won first place in the 2003 National Society of Newspaper Columnists' humor writing competition and is scheduled to appear on "Oprah" in the near future.

A book signing will follow Cameron's speech. The event is co-sponsored by POPS (Professional Office Personnel), the Erma Bombeck Writers' Workshop and the UD Bookstore.

Cameron will also speak on Thursday, Oct. 13, at a Junior League of Dayton event and is doing a book signing at Books & Company, 350 East Stroop Rd. at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 14. For more information, see www.booksandco.com.
