James Casey '88 is now pre-award team manager in the office of sponsored programs at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh. He also serves as faculty in the master's in research administration program at Rush University in Chicago.

Chris Cotter '08 has been named a 2014 Ohio Rising Star by Ohio Super Lawyers magazine. Cotter is an associate at Roetzel & Andress, LPA in Akron, Ohio.

Virginia Crew '04 was appointed by the Mohave County, Arizona, Board of Supervisors as a Justice of the Peace for the Mohave County Justice Courts. Crew will continue as an associate attorney with the law offices of Paul Lenkowsky in Bullhead City, Ariz.

Stacy Ragon Delgros '96 has been named a 2014 Ohio Super Lawyer by Ohio Super Lawyers magazine. Delgros is a partner at Roetzel & Andress, LPA in Akron, Ohio.

Anthony Erlain '95 is in private practice in Pittsburgh, where he is a plaintiff's personal injury attorney.

Jon Hiltz '06 was promoted to partner at Keating, Muething and Klekamp in Cincinnati. Hiltz's practice centers around corporate and finance areas in the firm's business and transactional group.

Wayne A. Kalkwarf '13, who earned his LL.M. in Intellectual Property and Technology Law, was published in the Texas Intellectual Property Law Journal, Vol. 21, No. 3, with his article, "Mode, Method, Madness and Mayhem: Section 15 of the Leahy-Smith America Invents Act."

Taft Stettinius & Hollister LLP is pleased to announce that Jeffrey A. Mullins '90 was selected for inclusion in Ohio Super Lawyers 2014 and Lisa K. Wiseman-Meyer '01 was selected for inclusion in Ohio Rising Stars 2014. 

Several local elections in November saw UD law alumni taking positions of leadership:
  • Joyce Deitering '84 was re-elected as Mayor of the City of Clayton, Ohio.
  • Dennis Lieberman '78 was elected to the City  Commission of Clayton, Ohio.
  • Margaret "Peg" Quinn, '80 was elected to the position of judge of the Oakwood, Ohio, Municipal Court in one of the most highly contested races in the state of Ohio. Several other UD law alumni vied for the position including Ward Barrentine '01Chris R. Conard '84Chris Epley '99Sara Hein '95Mike Hochwalt '84, and Brian Huelsman '91.
