Dean and Professor of Law

Dean McGreal's areas of expertise include constitutional law, religion and the law, First Amendment rights, corporate compliance and business ethics, including foreign anti-corruption laws such as the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act), and corporate social responsibility. He has published nearly 40 articles and essays for law review publications at the University of Notre Dame, Northwestern University and the University of Pennsylvania, among others. He is also a co-author of a popular Constitutional Law study guide published by LexisNexis. McGreal is a frequent speaker and commentator on corporate compliance and ethics programs, and he writes an annual survey of legal developments on the subject for The Business Lawyer. Involved with the American Civil Liberties Union for many years, he provides pro bono work as a civil rights and liberties lawyer. He has received the Service Award from the ACLU of Ohio. He has served as co-counsel in a number of voting rights cases, including Stewart v. Blackwell, a challenge to Ohio's dual-balloting voting system, and Project Vote v. Madison County Board of Elections, a challenge to Ohio voting regulations that restricted the right to register to vote. He is a co-author of ¿The Voting Rights Act and the Racial Gap in Lost Votes."
