Schedule to meet with your adviser; after all, that's why you have one!
-
Talk with your professors, especially if it's a class you really enjoy. All UD professors have office hours, and as experts in their fields, they are great resources. If you really enjoy the class, it could be worth exploring that topic as a major.
-
Explore the idea of an internship. It's a great way to get real-world experience that could help you make a decision. Plus, it's never too early to start building your resume!
-
If you're interested in an area and it's not your major, you can meet with someone from the department to learn more about the field. If you're not sure whom to contact, e-mail success@udayton.edu and we'll refer you to the correct person.

“I’m having a hard time in my classes. I don’t understand where my professor is coming from, and the material can be really confusing.”
-
Try talking with your professor. It may feel intimidating at first, but they are here to help you. It might feel awkward at first, but you'll be glad you spoke up.
-
Touch base with the Office of Student Learning Support about tutoring options. There are many classes where a tutor is available several evenings during the week. Visit the Student Learning Support Web Site >>
