Housing

  • “I’m not getting along with my roommate, and I don’t have much in common with the other students on my floor.”
    • Although you probably see your roommate and the people on your floor the most, there are just under 7,000 students attending UD. There are many other people on campus that you might have more in common with. Check out campus organizations and events that sound interesting to you, and you'll have the opportunity to meet more people. Visit the Student Activities Web Site >>

    • Make an appointment to see your resident adviser. They are there to help you with your housing concerns.

    • Think about your expectations of your roommate and why you're upset. While expecting the rules you both made in the contract in the beginning of the year to be followed is important, it's not fair to expect your roommate to be your best friend, or to always do what you think is 'right.' It's important to remember that most relationships require some kind of compromise.
