Calendar of Annual Faculty Reports & Processes in the Office of the Associate Provost


Thursday before classes start: New Faculty Orientation.

Fall faculty meeting.
Sabbatical funding information provided to Deans.
Deans submit faculty hiring requests for the academic year.
September 16: Sabbatical reports from previous winter term due.
By September 30: Proposed sabbatical plans submitted to Chairpersons and Departmental Sabbatical Review Committees for review.

Faculty salary report distributed.
October 7: Department/course/instructor reports generated.
Mid-October: Board of Trustees meeting.
By October 31: Departmental Sabbatical Review Committees and Chairpersons provide feedback on sabbatical proposals; sabbatical packets submitted to Deans.

Third week: Promotion and tenure documents requested.
By November 30: Deans review sabbatical proposals and forwards proposals to the Associate Provost for Faculty & Administrative Affairs.

December 1: Promotion and tenure documents due to the Provost.

Winter faculty meeting.
By third week: Sabbatical candidates, Chairpersons, and Deans notified of sabbatical awards.
Mid-January: Board of Trustees meeting.

February 10: Department/course/instructor reports generated.
February 16: Sabbatical reports from previous fall term due.

First week: Compensation/budget worksheets distributed to Deans.
Elections held for the Faculty Hearing Committee on Academic Freedom and Tenure.
Sabbatical eligibility lists for the following year provided to Deans and Chairpersons.
Last week: Compensation/budget worksheets due from academic areas.

Elections held for the Faculty Hearing Committee on Grievances.
Elections held for the Faculty Board.
Pre-tenure reviews due.
Nominations for Professor Emeritus/Emerita requested.
Sabbatical packets sent to faculty members eligible for sabbatical in the following year.
By April 15: Contracts sent to faculty members.

May 15: Returning faculty contracts due.

June 1: Administrative faculty recommendations due.
Mid-June: Bulletin update.
By June 30: Candidate interview expense reports due to Amy Askren.

Appointment letters sent to administrative faculty.
Mid-July: Parking permits sent to Emeritus faculty.

Documents sent out for UDRI/EGR joint appointments.
