Vulnerability Assessments

The Department of Public Safety has experienced physical security analysts on staff. In addition to the normal training of a police officer, these individuals attend specialized training in Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) and apply those principles to assess the vulnerability of built and planned facilities, in cooperation with Facilities Management and building occupants.

Assessments of campus facilities are conducted to evaluate current and planned security measures, assist departments with security issues which may arise, and ensure University of Dayton assets are appropriately protected.

Individuals with a security concern are encouraged to request an assessment by contacting the Department of Public Safety’s Director of Administration and Security.
