Here's What We Ask
Marianist Leadership Scholars To Do

Students who participate in the Marianist Leadership Scholars Program are asked to meet certain expectations while at the University:

• Attend monthly meetings planned by the MLS Coordinator and MLS Team
• Attend a yearly retreat with the MLS community
• Participate in one MLS-sponsored service project each semester
• Involve oneself in a chosen leadership position at the University of Dayton
• Maintain a 3.0 grade-point average each semester
• Complete a minimum of 10 hours of service each semester
• Participate in community building activities
• Re-apply yearly based on above expectations

Here's How to Apply

Note: The application process closed on February 19, 2012.

There are three requirements to the application to become a Marianist Leadership Scholar.

First, fill out and send us the Marianist Leadership Scholars Application Form online.

Second, you will need two forms of recommendation (submitted by using our online form or sent via mail and date stamped by Feb. 17).

One recommendation will come from a teacher, administrator, or counselor. The second recommendation will come from a community, parish, or school organization where you have led or served.

Please ask those who are submitting a recommendation for you to fill out the online Marianist Leadership Scholars Recommendation Form.

The third requirement is a 250-word personal essay.

We suggest completing the information off line. When you have finished, insert your information in the online application form in one sitting. Once the application is submitted, you will not be able to change it.

We strongly encourage you and the people recommending you to send your information to us by using the online application and recommendation forms. Any form not submitted online can be mailed to:
