The School of Engineering at the University of Dayton makes use of a variety of forms of experiential education which include semester-long cooperative experiences with engineering firms and industry, the ten-week ETHOS internship in a developing country, and service projects in various engineering design and project management courses. Interest in service to community organizations among engineering students is promoted by the School of Engineering's Learn, Lead and Serve grant program which funds student-initiated technical service projects which are organized in affiliation with neighborhood organizations, city governments, schools, and various non-government organizations. In addition, we sponsor the annual Wheels for Kids project, providing children with donated bikes which engineering students repair and make available to local elementary schools.
