Red Scare

The Red Scare is the University of Dayton's largest student organization. We are a group of enthusiastic UD students united in a common cause: to do whatever it takes to show UD pride through support of The University of Dayton's athletics. Our school is known for its community, and each athletic event provides us with an opportunity to display that unity for all to see.

About Us

In the national realm of collegiate athletics, it is widely recognized that maintaining a dedicated and enthusiastic group of student fans is beneficial to the athletic program of the University. In addition, it is widely documented that the overall success of a University’s athletic program is advantageous for the students, faculty, and surrounding community. Having a comprehensive knowledge of these facts, the students find it necessary to establish a group dedicated to serving the school in a spirited manner. We, the Flyer Faithful, knowing full well the multiple benefits of an enthusiastic and motivated student cheering section do hereby establish a union dedicated to these objectives.

A group of enthusiastic UD students united in a common cause: to do whatever it takes to show UD pride through support of The University of Dayton’s athletics. Our school is known for its community, and each athletic event provides us with an opportunity to display that unity for all to see. The unbreakable bond that holds us all together has been forged through years of tradition and athletic excellence. With your help, we will strengthen our reputation as one of the toughest athletic programs in the country, and once again bring recognition to the Flyer Faithful. We are the largest student organization for a reason. Together our intimidating numbers will strike fear and uncertainty into the hearts of our opponents.

Everyone can join the Red Scare!

First, go to Porches. Once logged in, click on the Groups tab at the top right of the screen. Once in the index tab of the groups popup, search for Red Scare. Click the search button, and Red Scare’s group will come up. Click on the link to our group and a join button will follow. Click the join button and you’re all set! If you’ve done this correctly, you should see a Red Scare widget on your “UD Daily” tab. Which is located on the red bar at the top of your Porches main page. Every time you scan at an event, and a day or two has passed, your new Spirit Point total will be displayed here.
