Education Senator
I represent the School of Education and Allied Professions on the Student Senate as well as the Academic Senate. On the Student Senate, we deal with student-specific topics and advocacy, typically non-academic, while the Academic Senate is comprised of students and faculty, and votes on matters of academic policy. This year we are re-working the Student Honor Code and working on establishing a new graduate program in the SOEAP.

Other Involvement: I am in Epsilon Delta Upsilon, the professional SOEAP fraternity, a member of the Mock Trial Team, and a participant in the LifeItself Dance Club. I also work at Career Services reviewing resumes.

Engineering Senator
In particular, keeping interaction between the University and the school of Engineering. Further, making sure information is available that may be beneficial for any Engineering student, club, or faculty member at UD.
Also, any news or knowledge from the school of Engineering that may be beneficial for the University is made available at the SGA meetings.
I attempt to talk with any Engineering student I meet, especially any with pertinent questions or seek involvement with any of the clubs on campus.
As Engineering senator, I am part of the Academic Senate (which consists of Faculty, Staff, and Students) and the Engineering Club Presidents meetings.
I currently serve on the Bylaws Committee in SGA, the Student Academic Policies Committee in Academic Senate, and the Finance Committee in SGA.
Joe Radisek - 5th Year Senior - Mechanical Engineering Major - Cleveland, OH
Other Involvement: I am a very active member of ASME and Pi Tau Sigma (Mechanical Engineering societies), Wheels4Kids and the Engineers Week planning committee (Engineering clubs on campus), Flyer Radio and the occasional theatre production (the arts on campus).
I have previously attended AIAA, SAE, SAMPE, IEEE, ETHOS, ASHRAE, Energy Coalition, ASCE, BMES, and SWE meetings; mostly depending on when I have had spare time during the week.
Also, I have participated in intramural sport teams, Friday Night Film series at ArtStreet, Orpheus (the Literary Arts Magazine on campus), International club, UDRI, tutoring, igloo-making, Astronomy club, exploring buildings on campus, and using the KU ride board.

The other academic senators and I meet with the Provost of the university, the deans of all the colleges, and the Board of Trustees to discuss different policies that may be adopted by the university to help it keep its commitment to educating the whole person.

I work to represent the Social Sciences and try to help any organizations that relate to these majors. I also sit on the Academic Senate working with faculty on academic issues on campus. I am also the head of the Transportation Advocacy Group working to understand and solve transportation issues for students.
