RecKids Camp

Summertime recreation becomes extra special with RECkids Camp at the University of Dayton, home to a diverse community committed to educating the whole person and combining learning and scholarship with leadership and service.

Campers are challenged to think critically, work collaboratively, and solve problems creatively through their involvement in a variety of dynamic, hands-on activities that encourage communication and cooperation in nurturing and positive educational environments. Our RECkids Camp staff is comprised of UD students and administrators. Because our staff is shaped by UD’s Catholic and Marianist values, they are committed to fostering a spirit of hospitality where campers feel welcomed, included, and valued.

Each weekly session is designed around a fun, interactive theme where campers and counselors become designers of their own learning through high-level tasks and active roles. During each week, campers will have opportunities to form a beginning group contract for success, participate in large group programs, and choose from several small group activities. There will be opportunities for swimming, climbing, playing sports, creating art projects, and so much more.

In collaboration with the University of Dayton’s community and grounded in the Choose Well, Live Well philosophy of UD Campus Recreation, the programs offered and spirit created at RECkids Camp makes this one of the best ways to spend your summer in the Miami Valley.
