Leadership Programs
Through the formal recognition of over 150 student groups and organizations our office provides opportunities for students to practice leadership skills as they endeavor to mobilize their peers in the pursuit of a better world. Our office coordinates leadership training, skill development workshops, certificate series, advisor coaching and peer modeling initiatives. Students are encouraged to invest personally in their development as leaders in the Catholic and Marianist traditions and to participate in a range of skill-building activities.
It is the charge of this office to shape programming that offers every student access to leadership development and formation opportunities, such as:
- Exploring leadership theory and concepts in seminars and workshops
- Experimenting with key leadership practices
- Finding support and guidance in coaches, mentors or advisors
- Participating in work groups that integrate information and empower important relational and team building skills
- Researching effective leadership practices and assessment strategies
- Engaging in a faith-centered leadership model that invites participants to examine their core values, create a personal vision statement, and reflect on the meaning of their experiences, beliefs, and principles
