from aches to X-rays.

Whether you're not feeling well, need a physical or require a vaccination, the Health Center is here for you. Located in Gosiger Hall, the Health Center is staffed by a team of family physicians and registered nurses.

The Health Center is open from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday during the academic school year. Appointments are required except in the case of emergencies. To schedule an appointment, call 937-229-3131.  Students can also make or cancel appointments through our portal at https:/myhealth.udayton.edu

All students are required to show evidence of adequate immunizations and do a screening for tuberculosis("TB").  Incoming students for 2012-2013 must also have health insurance or sign an electronic waiver to avoid automatic enrollment in the University-sponsored health insurance plan.

PREGNANT? UNPLANNED PREGNANCY?

Resources on and Around Campus

An unplanned pregnancy is an experience many of our students know about, hear of, or experience.  It is in these most confusing and lonely times that the UD community can be of great support.  As a Catholic Marianist community, UD provides an environment of love and acceptance.  In response to this call, we strive to open avenues of communication between single, pregnant women and the community.   Services through the Hand in Hand program includes:

Gosiger Hall

Dedicated to keeping you healthy and insured.

To ensure your health and well-being, the University of Dayton requires students to carry health insurance that covers them for the entire calendar year.  Beginning this year (2012-2013) all first year undergraduates, all new transfer-in students, all law students, and all international students will be automatically enrolled in the University’s health insurance plan sponsored by United HealthCare Student Resources and billed to the student account.  If the student already possesses health insurance that is comparable to the University’s, they may request to be excluded by completing a health insurance waiver.   The student may access the waiver address at:  www.studentcenter.uhcsr.com/udayton.  For more information on the policy, please see the Policy Benefits Summary located in the blue box to the right.

In order to avoid being automatically enrolled in the University plan, this waiver must be completed by March 22, 2013 for all new incoming students attending the spring B semester.  The information submitted will be evaluated to determine if it meets University guidelines.

If you are a returning student or a graduate student, the University also expects you to carry health insurance while enrolled.   If you choose to enroll in the University’s plan sponsored by United HealthCare Student Resources, you may access their website at:  www.uhcsr.com/udayton.

Students should always carry their insurance card (or a copy of both front and back of the card) with them at all times.

Gloved hands

These entrance requirements are among our easiest.

To protect the health of everyone on campus, the University requires all students to provide immunization information and do a Tuberculosis (TB) screening.

The form to fulfill this requirement will be available on Porches OR can be downloaded here (Chinese, Arabic versions).  Information must be verified by a physician, and must be submitted by July 1 for students starting Fall terms, and January 1 for Spring terms.
