Upperclass Housing Options

For junior, senior and fifth-year housing, class status is determined by a student's UD start term or high school graduation year, not by the number of credit hours. Age of student needs to fall within the traditional undergraduate, upperclass age range.

Housing Facilities

Juniors, seniors and fifth-year students are eligible to live in:

  • Garden Apartments: 132 students (south quad) and 420 students (East Stewart Street)
  • Lawnview Apartments: 156 students
  • Houses: approximately 1,800 students

Due to recent acquisitions and renovations, floor layouts and photos may not be available on our website for some facilities. We do our best to guarantee the accuracy of this information; however, if the information is inaccurate, this is not cause for housing contract cancellation.

Housing Lottery Eligibility

For housing class status is determined by a student's UD start term or high school graduation year, not by the number of credit hours. Age of student needs to be within the traditional undergraduate age range. Juniors and seniors are not guaranteed housing; however, historically, any junior or senior that wanted to live in UD housing and was willing to accept any housing facility that was available has been offered housing.

Juniors and seniors may live in Lawnview Apartments, Garden Apartments, University Neighborhood Houses and Apartments, ArtStreet, and possible Irving Commons Apartments..

To be eligible to participate in the lottery, each group member must be a UD student and must sign an individual online Housing Contract/Application. Once each group member completes an online contract, then the group leader can create a roommate group name and password. Group leader then notifies all group members the roommate group name and password and each group member joins the group through the online roommate group step. Group leader will need to verify all group members and when group is complete, verify the whole group. The roommate group determines the size of the group. To participate in the jr-sr lottery, roommate group size will mirror the housing capacity that the group can select on lottery selection date.

Incoming new fall semester transfer students are unable to participate within the housing lottery.

Any student can be withheld from lottery participation due to behavior and vandalism problems within their current residence. Students can also be withdrawn from lottery participation due to discipline sanctions and, in the judgment of Student Development staff, any inappropriate behavior.
