Family Weekend 2014 is September 19-21

Mark your calendars and start making plans to attend this fantastic weekend full of family fun! Events include the UD Football game, 5K run, cornhole tournament, murder mystery dinner, casino night, cooking classes and most importantly, quality time with your student!  

What to Expect
  • Some events require pre-registration and are free
  • Some events require pre-registration and pre-payment
  • New student programs is going green and will only print a limited number of paper copies of the Family Weekend schedule
  • You are encouraged to download the Family Weekend Guidebook App to use throughout the three-day experience

Family Weekend Registration

To register for family weekend click the Registration Link in the blue box to your right.

Cancellations & Refunds

All family weekend cancellations and requests for refunds that are made after the reservation system closes must be submitted in writing to the family weekend email account at familyweekend@udayton.edu.

  • Cancellation and Refund Deadline: September 17

Family Weekend is "Going Green!" Use the Family Weekend Guidebook App to access the family weekend schedule, campus map and much more from your smartphone, tablet or computer. There will be a limited number of printed schedules available at family weekend check-in and package pick-up, however you are encouraged to utilize the app.

FLU PREVENTION CLINIC

The vaccine is $20 and will be billed to the student’s account. Pre-registration not required but all students must have their student ID to receive a flu shot. Sponsored by Community Wellness and Student Health Services.

ANNUAL CORNHOLE TOURNAMENT

Single elimination tournament. On-site registration is accepted (must have a minimum of a 2-person team); late registration does not include a t-shirt.

COLLEGE STUDENTS AND CAREER SUCCESS

Where Do Parents Fit In?: This session will explore the resources of the Office of Career Services and discuss how parents and other family members can support students who are making decisions related to their major, internship options and career opportunities.

OFFICE OF STUDENT SUCCESS AND PARENT ENGAGEMENT: A FAMILY AFFAIR

While your student makes their transition to campus learning and living, parents and families are also making a transition. Meet the staff of the office of student success and parent engagement (OSSPE) and learn some “just in time” tips for this transition.

GO GLOBAL!

Learn about international opportunities from the Center for International Programs—education abroad, cultural immersions and service-learning programs available to UD students.

BIKE TO THE SECOND STREET MARKET

Join other students and families for an early lunch at 2nd Street Market. If you are using a RecBike to participate in the group ride, please arrive early so you have time to get your RecBike checked out and be ready to depart with the group at 11:00 a.m. RecBike check outs occur at the RecPlex Equipment Issuance at no cost. Bike rentals are first come, first served.

PRE-GAME HOSPITALITY TENT AND FAMILY FUN FESTIVAL

Join Rudy Flyer and other families for a picnic prior to the game.

UD FOOTBALL GAME

All pre-purchased football tickets will be distributed at ticket pick up. Tickets may also be purchased on game day at the stadium. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children; UD students get in free.

STATUES OF MARY TOUR

Each memorial tells a story of the past and present of UD. This tour includes a treasure hunt with a focus on younger siblings. In the event of inclement weather, the tour will focus on Mary statues and the Mirror of Hope, and will meet in the library lobby. Pre-registration required.

GO GREEK! OPEN HOUSE

Are you thinking about going Greek? Join representatives from all three Greek Councils for a glimpse into Greek Life at UD. Family members are encouraged to attend with their students.

FUTURE FLYERS NIGHT OUT

Campus Recreation is excited to provide Future Flyers, ages 6 – 12, with an evening of recreational fun to include games, swimming, rock climbing and more. Children must wear closed toed athletic shoes and are encouraged to bring a swim suit and towel for use of the Aquatic Center. Pizza and soft drinks will be served; if your child has food restrictions please provide a bagged meal. Pre-registration required.
