Early Drop-Off Weekend: August 10 and 11, 2013

The office of New Student Programs provides new students the opportunity to drop off their belongings prior to orientation (move-in) weekend.  To sign up, students register for a one hour time slot on the day of their choice during Early Drop-off weekend.  Students will receive an email confirming their drop-off day/time.  Students then bring all their belongings and drop them off in their assigned residence hall room during their time slot.  Participation in Early Drop-off is highly encouraged, especially for students who are coming from closer distances.  While Early Drop-off is not designed to allow students to unpack and settle in, it still is beneficial since it allows students (and their families) who participate to avoid waiting in move-in day traffic, proceed directly to the move-in day parking/shuttle lots, carry any small last minute items on the bus that takes them to their residence hall, and get a head start on unpacking and settling in during move-in day.  Early Drop-off weekend will take place August 10 and 11. Time slots must be prearranged through the Early Drop-off website and are strictly limited to one hour. The Early Drop-off registration system will open on July 8 and close on July 31, please check back here during this time period to access the link for sign-ups. These directions are only for Early Drop-off 2012, due to construction on Brown Street.  Please refer to page 7 in the Family Guidebook for Move-In Day directions.

From I-75, southbound (from Toledo)

Exit I-75 at #51 Edwin C. Moses Boulevard. Turn left and follow Edwin C. Moses Boulevard east to Stewart Street. Turn right and continue on Stewart Street to the University of Dayton. Then follow the directions on the map to get to your student’s residence hall.

From I-75, northbound (from Cincinnati)

Exit I-75 at #51 Edwin C. Moses Boulevard. Turn right and follow Edwin C. Moses Boulevard east to Stewart Street. Turn right and continue on Stewart Street to the University of Dayton. Then follow the directions on the map to get to your student’s residence hall.

From I-70, westbound (from Columbus)

Exit I-70 at I-675. Proceed southbound to state route 35. Take state route 35 west (toward Dayton) to I-75. Take I-75 south one exit to #51 Edwin C. Moses Boulevard. Turn left and follow Edwin C. Moses Boulevard east to Stewart Street. Turn right and continue on Stewart Street to the University of Dayton. Then follow the directions on the map to get to your student’s residence hall.

From I-70, eastbound (from Indianapolis)

Exit I-70 at I-75 south. Proceed southbound through Dayton and exit at #51 Edwin C. Moses Boulevard. Turn left and follow Edwin C. Moses Boulevard east to Stewart Street. Turn right and continue on Stewart Street to the University of Dayton. Then follow the directions on the map to get to your student’s residence hall.

Move-in Day

Move-in Day is Saturday, August 17, 2013 from 7:00 a.m. - noon!

In order to ensure the most efficient Move-in day possible, the New Student Orientation staff has established a drop and go process that enables multiple cars to pull up to the curb at the residence hall, unload and then move their car to an outer parking area so that other cars may unload. All traffic will be routed according to their specific residence hall assignment. Please see the Orientation Guide, for specific directions to each residence hall. Each student will be asked to print a color coded hang tag for your car's rearview mirror based on the hall where the student is assigned to live.
Hang tags and the directional signs are color coded to ensure an easy trip to your residence hall front door. Your New Student Orientation experience begins as soon as you move in!
