There isn't a single University of Dayton experience. In fact, each of us has a different version of life as a Flyer. And with the resources available through Student Life and Kennedy Union, you can tailor your time here to focus on your interests - and expand them.

Join one of our officially recognized student organizations. Enjoy a theatrical production, guest lecture, dance ensemble or musical recital in Boll Theatre. Bowl a few games in the Hangar. Attend fun, rewarding (and often, free) alcohol-free weekend programs throughout the year.

The Community Center of Campus.

Whether you have an organizational meeting in one of the KU meeting rooms, are hoping to score tickets to a show downtown, or just want to relax with friends and bowl a few games in the Hangar, KU is where it’s at.

The John F. Kennedy Memorial Union offers comfortable surroundings and a variety of serves for the University community.  Relax, study, or hang out in the Torch Lounge.  Grab a snack from the Galley before challenging your roommate to a game of foosball, billiards, or bowling.  Within the Union, you’ll also find the Student Life and Kennedy Union office, the commuter lounge, the campus information center, box office, student organization office spaces, an on-campus travel agency, and a dining hall.

Run for office in student government. Join a service organization.  Enhance your major through an academic or honorary organization.  Become president of your fraternity or sorority.  Explore journalism or your creative side through one of our media organizations.  Stay fit by joining a recreation organization.  Make a difference in your community.  Don’t see something that matches your interests?  Start something new!

Enhance your leadership skills through participation in the Student Government Association.  SGA serves as a forum to address issues that impact students, resolves common student problems, creates new policies, and protects student rights.  As the students’ link to the administration, SGA members are a voice for their peers. 

Join SGA and make an impact on the future of the University.

To help campus feel more like your home away from home, we offer a variety of programs and services for commuter students.  Use the Commuter Lounge to relax, socialize, rent a locker, or study between classes.  Put money on your Flyer Express card for an easy way to grab a meal on campus – or a late afternoon snack.

Commuters on Campus is your chance to get involved and make a difference.  Commuters on Campus is a student-run organization specifically geared at welcoming commuter students into the UD community.  You can get to know other commuter students, attend a lunch with the Dean of Students or a Marianist Brother, and even help to make University policies inclusive of commuters.
