Leo Meyer, Nazareth and the origin

of the University of Dayton

One hundred and fifty years ago, Father Leo Meyer, S.M., came to Dayton, setting in motion the events that have created the University of Dayton. Roz Young, noted columnist, author and historian, wrote the following series of columns about that early history. They appeared in the Dayton Daily News during May and June 1997. Information in those columns is based on the book, Father Leo Meyer's 13 Years at Nazareth.
