Campus to Career: Bridging the Gap

What began in March 2011 as a desire by the GE Women’s Network to give back to the Dayton community by sharing their members’ professional experiences with college women has grown into an innovative, annual professional development conference.  The first two annual events were called “Sweats to Suits.”  In 2013 the event was renamed “Campus to Career: Bridging the Gap” to better communicate that the event’s content was relevant to all young professionals, regardless of their chosen field. 

Unlike most professional development programs for college women, Campus to Career’s focus is not on “getting a job”; resources for that process are already readily available to students through UD Career Services and many academic departments’ professional development courses.  Instead Campus to Career attempts to “fill gaps” in skills and knowledge that are critically important to young women’s’ success in the early years of their careers.
