Campus Life & International Services

Campus Life

campus photoThe University of Dayton is a vibrant and engaging community, located two miles from downtown Dayton. More than 90 percent of undergraduates live on our quiet 398-acre campus, and our dining facilities have received six national awards for excellence.

The University offers many ways to get involved. There are more than 200 student clubs, including the International Club, Chinese Students and Scholars Association, Indian Student Association and Muslim Student Association. More than half of students participate in club or intramural sports, and our intercollegiate sports teams compete at the NCAA Division I level. In addition to cutting-edge laboratories and classrooms, you’ll find state-of-the-art facilities, like the RecPlex (Recreational Complex), ArtStreet and UD Arena.

To help you earn money and gain valuable experience, student jobs are available on campus, and internship and co-op positions are available in the greater Dayton area.

International Services

The Center for International Programs provides support for the internationalization of campus and offers services to support international students on campus.

Transitioning to the U.S. from your home country can be both exciting and challenging. International Student and Scholar Services is here to help make the process easy for you and your families. We assist international students with immigration advising, workshops, orientation, academic and nonacademic advising, social and extracurricular activities and emergencies.

The Intensive English Program (IEP) develops students’ English skills in preparation for an undergraduate or graduate program or the workplace. Through this program, international students are introduced to American culture and an American university experience.

The University of Dayton values the many perspectives found in the world around us. Our learning, working and service opportunities, both on campus and in every part of the world, help students to engage in the global community. In order to intensify higher learning and develop cross-cultural skills, the University of Dayton offers several education abroad programs and partnerships.
