Colloquia Summer 2016

The following colloquia take place during summer 2016. For more detailed information, or if you wish to give a talk, please contact Paul Eloe >>

"Comparison Theorems and Free Boundary Value Problems for Ordinary Differential Equations"

Date and Time: Wednesday, August 3, 11:00 am

Location: Science Center 323

Speaker: Alaa Alharbi, University of Dayton

Advisor: Paul Eloe

Abstract: Sufficient conditions for existence of solutions of free boundary value problems for ordinary differential equations are obtained.  The techniques employ continuous dependence on parameters of solutions of initial value problems, differential inequalities, and comparison results.

"Almost 2-perfect Maximum Packing and Minimum Covering of Complete Graphs with 6-cycles"

Date and Time: Friday, July 1, 11:00 am

Location: Science Center 323

Speakers: Meshail Alharbi and Maram Almazmumi, University of Dayton

Advisor: Atif Abueida

Abstract: We consider 2-perfect and almost 2-perfect m-cycle systems. In this talk, we will discuss the case when m=6. We will present multiple constructions and examples of almost 2-perfect maximum and minimum covering of complete graphs with 6-cycles.
