Introduced to letterforms in 1980 at the University of Dayton under the tutelage of Lou Weber, Patti Paulus has been creating calligraphic art for close to 37 years. While hand lettered artwork continues to be her main focus, she has recently expanded her artistic expression with the addition of rendering landscapes in charcoal. “Then & Now” shows the progression of Ms. Paulus’ artwork from her beginnings at the University of Dayton to the present day.

Exhibit: ‘Ex Oriente Lux’: Marian Art of Asia

Monday, June 26-Friday, September 8 in the Marian Library Gallery

With the exception of famous artists such as Japan’s Sadao Watanabe and China’s He Qi, the variety and originality of Asian religious art isn’t well-known in the Western world. This exhibit attempts to expand our view of Asian Marian art with pieces drawn from the Marian Library.
