FLYER PITCH WINNERS ANNOUNCED AT ENTREPRENEURSHIP BANQUET

1ST PLACE WINNER - NEET SEAT

Neet Seat, developed by an alumni from UD, Zach McHale, Neet Seat is a patent pending pouch that attaches to stadium and arena seats to hold coats and other items, freeing your lap and keeping your items off the ground during the big game.

2ND PLACE WINNER - HIT-GRIP

Designed by a former professional baseball player, Jim Ward, and his daughter, UD alum Tiffany Pikas, Hit-Grip is a patented device to help control and improve the swing of hitters in baseball and golfers.  It allows for proper alignment of the hands which improves swing speed and accuracy.

3RD PLACE WINNER - SOLAR THERMAL ABSORPTION REFRIGERATION (S.T.A.R.)

Initially developed through UD’s ETHOS Center, this is an environmentally friendly refrigeration method designed for use in areas without reliable power grids. S.T.A.R. uses solar power and a thermal absorption technique to refrigerate vaccines in off-the-grid areas. Team members include current UD students Matt Worsham, Claudia Labrador Rached, Bipin Kharki, Katie Willard, Ben Pfeifer, and Scott Stoermer.

4TH PLACE WINNERS - 3-WAY TIE
PARKING SPACES FINDER

PSF is a shared services application developed for those who own parking in high-density urban areas. The app allows users to post available spaces and then rent them out during a time when the space is empty. The app was developed by Yike Li and Xiaowu Zhan from China Jiliang University in Hangzhou, China.

POWERSAGE

Developed by a Columbus team of entrepreneurs which includes Tom Roberts and his daughter, UD student Kaitlyn Roberts, PowerSage is a monitoring and control system to manage power consumption for multi-family residential buildings. 

ORTUS

Founded by UD students Andrew Hamilton, Shannon Hoffman and Sean Depke with the help of UD alum Chase Jenkinson, Ortus is a noise cancelling technology developed by the United States Naval Research Center at Crane, Indiana, and is being redesigned to provide noise reduction in industrial facilities
