UD's Cr?che Lady Delivers

By Michele Devitt, Curatorial Assistant and Volunteer Coordinator

Ginny Saxton is already on the move delivering crèches to nearly 100 campus offices just as she has for the past 10 years. Ginny is a cherished volunteer at the Marian Library crèche workshop. She spends hundreds of hours each year preparing nativity sets and planning which nativities go to requesting offices. She is the friendly face everyone welcomes as she brings them wonderful crèches from our collection.

You can meet Ginny and several other dedicated crèche volunteers when the workshop opens its doors to the public as part of this year's At the Manger: World Nativity Traditions exhibits. Witness what goes into the planning, constructing, displaying and storing of the over 3,5oo nativity sets in the Marian Library's collection. You will also see crèche display that illustrates our 25-year tradition.
