The third annual office Olympics for the library shelvers was held Tuesday, August 6th. Named SMASH-lympics, for the Stacks Maintenance & Administrative Specialist Helpers, four contestants competed in six events throughout the day. After an opening ceremony where the students proudly paraded waving flags appropriate to their major, we feasted on treats before going right into the Book Balancing challenge. This test of speed and agility has been a favorite since the launch of the games. Other popular events included the Bookend-Tower Building and the inaugural Dumpster Shootout! (using discarded books only) See you in 2014!
