And the winners are...

Congratulations to the winners of the Hary, Koelher and Ruhlman Awards. All are welcome to attend the awards ceremony on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at 4 p.m. in the Roesch Library first floor gallery.

The Dr. Nicoletta Hary Award* provides a scholarship to returning full or part-time sophomore or junior students with a major or minor in teacher education. Award criteria include financial need, a good academic record, and personal characteristics reflecting the Marianist tradition. The 2015 winners are Kara Jankowski and Virginia Saurine.

The Rev. Theodore Koehler, S.M., International Student Award provides a scholarship to any returning international student (with non-immigrant visa). Award criteria include financial need, a good academic record, and personal characteristics which reflect the Marianist tradition. The 2015 winners are Aditya Divakarla, Qi Guo, and Don Hettiarachchi

The Brother Frank Ruhlman, S.M., Award of Excellence for Literary Achievement provides a scholarship to a UD undergraduate who demonstrates excellence in writing that has been published in University publications during the current academic year. The winner of the 2015 award is Cyrena "CC" Hutten.

*This award was previously known as the Klick Award.

Nichole Rustad writes, "ArtStreet launched the world premiere of GHETTO: A Retail Art Installation in the White Box Gallery on Feb. 24. My 11-year-old daughter, Emma, and I were among the opening night attendees. I challenge each of you to visit before March 31 and ask yourself the same question my daughter asked of me...what does the word 'ghetto' mean?"
