The Face of Christ in Quito

I have been able to see the face of Christ in my first, third, and fifth grade students everyday. 

Whenever I walk across campus and pass a student they almost always run up and give me a big hug and ask when we will have class next. (And then they usually ask me if they’ve earned their five good behavior stickers to get a pencil next classthe kids go crazy for pencils).

Megan Dickinson, class of ’23, and Laura Toomb, senior lecturer in Communications, are this year's Miryam Award recipients. Laura Toomb has been reaching out to grieving mothers who have lost children, following the tragic death of her son. Megan Dickinson has led a shift in the culture of UD’s Club Water Polo team to be more welcoming to women. 

Campus Ministry's Center for Social Concern presents the Miryam Award each year to someone who has contributed to improving and advancing the climate for women on campus.
