A friend is a friend is a friend

By Susan Pratt Tenkman

What wonderful memories I have of my summer in Eastern Kentucky.  It was a summer that deepened my love of nature and taught me to value the slow and simple life, something I am still working toward today.  Most importantly though it taught me in a concrete way that a person's station in life or education level do not define their value.  A friend is a friend is a friend....I gained many new friends that summer.  In this picture I am with Betsy Berlinghof, a woman I became deeper friends with that summer and our friendship thankfully still continues today.
