Changed, For Good

By Lauren DeClark '19, Junior Metanoia Leader

Metanoia (n): a transformative change of heart.

In the spring of my sophomore year, I experienced a metanoia like no other while attending this retreat. Being a sophomore, this was my first experience attending a retreat with students of other class levels. Immediately, the leaders made me feel welcome and important. Being in a place surrounded  by new people who wanted to hear my voice and showered me with support was comforting during a tough time. In this welcoming environment, I was able to give myself fully to an experience that encouraged delving into the true meaning of being a disciple. I witnessed strangers becoming friends, people hearing a call from God, and hearts changing.

One of my favorite quotes is, "There isn't a person you wouldn't love if you could read their story," and that, to me, was revealed on Metanoia. Hearing people's stories, sharing in their experiences, and coming together in God's love and faithfulness is what Metanoia is about.

We encourage you to join us on the weekend of February 6! We welcome you to experience God's love and joy with us, to open your mind and heart, and step out of your comfort zone. We are excited to share a metanoia with you! Registration is open here. Financial aid is available upon request. Please contact Mike Bennett with questions at mbennett3@udayton.edu.
