Back To The States

It’s been a few weeks since I've been off the MV World Odyssey and my Semester at Sea. After getting off the ship I went back and was a ski instructor at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort in Jackson Hole, Wyoming for Christmas and New Year's and then made my way to our family camp in Upstate NY to get ready to go back to school at the University of Dayton in Ohio.

As I packed up all my stuff a few weeks ago and got ready to step off the MV World Odyssey, the place I called home for 4 months with the people I called family, I wondered what would come of the transition back into the life I lived?

So far I haven't had a chance to really sit down and let it all sink in, but then I think maybe it doesn't happen that way, maybe it takes integrating back into life I know and letting the change come with my new mindset mixed with my old habits.

As I prepare to really move into 2017, I find myself not worrying about the change and growth I gained from Semester at Sea. For me I've learned to live in the moment more and more and Semester at Sea really helped solidify that for me.

I already see myself more at peace with things I couldn't understand or figure out 4 months ago. I guess seeing other countries, experiencing other cultures and integrating into other languages really did show me what I needed to see and learn in order to come to peace with myself.

So cheers to 2017 and whatever it may bring! May we all live in the moment and find peace with our life and love the way we live it!
