Ways to share your art

This past March, the annual Horvath student juried exhibition recognizes outstanding student achievement through the Horvath Student Exhibition. This is a way to get your work out there as an artist. There are also awards for the Horvath Award for Realism, 1st place, 2nd place, 3rd place, and Honorable Mention. The Department of Art and Design hosts a reception where these awards are given out and the art is viewed.

Getting into Horvath is a big deal for the art department. It’s an accomplishment that is greatly deserved when getting into Horvath and something that increases the student/artist’s confidence and ability to show off their work.

I personally have never entered into Horvath, however, many of my friends have. I admire the fact that even though sometimes they don’t get into Horvath, they still are always satisfied with their decision to embrace vulnerability and try each time.

There are many other ways to get involved with art on campus like Stander Symposium and Celebration of the Arts. It’s a great opportunity to take chances and gain confidence in your work!
