Hello From The Other Side #gogreek

One year ago this week I got a bid, from whom you may ask, that doesn’t matter what matters is why! As UD ladies interested in Greek life head into the week before the last rounds of recruitment, I revisit why I decided to #gogreek. I did not go through recruitment last spring because I wanted to join a sorority. This may sound strange, but hear me out! I went through recruitment because I wanted the experience and was curious what Greek life was for my own knowledge, not just what my friends told me.

The story of why I ended up choosing to stick with Greek life and the sorority that chose me is a story for another time. However, for today’s post I am going to tell you that I believe all sorority girls are hash tagging #gogreek on their social media posts with their sisters for these key reasons!

-support system

-sense of belonging

And so much more! These are just a few key words that sum up a lot of what going Greek will bring with the family that you become apart of.

The reason I bring the idea of #gogreek up is because it has changed my life and I want to share that with women who are looking to come to UD and want to experience new things and grow. For me personally, my sisters have held me to a higher standard that has helped me to grow in every aspect of my life. It’s not just about dressing up, it’s so much more. I became apart of a family I never knew existed. The support system I gained is more than I could ever ask for while persevering through college and what life has thrown at me the past year!

So here’s the scoop, my advice if you will, check it out! Even if you don’t end up joining it is still an experience that will benefit you and widen your horizons. So #gogreek ladies, and either find a family or gain a life experience of going through recruitment and get to meet some amazing women here at UD!
