Memorial Day Weekend
Hello, there! This weekend has been fantastic so far! I worked yesterday and today at the caverns, and we have had quite a few tourists, which is always good. I don't have any good stories of people doing strange things yet, but the summer is just beginning.
Last night I went to a neighbor's graduation party, and I had a great time! I got to sit and visit with a lot of people that I haven't seen in ages! I am going to hate it when we all graduate and move away because then we will have a hard time finding eachother in the same place at the same time. Today I went to my grandma's for a cook-out. It was really nice because I got to see my sister's husband who I haven't seen for almost a year. I also had a really great talk with my aunt about Christianity, which was phase one of my quest for answers.
I went to UD because I really wanted to immerse myself in the Catholic faith. I grew up in a very Protestant town, so I never had the chance to really learn a lot about Catholicism. I have been gradually exposing myself to more and more about the Catholic church, but the more I learn, the more questions I have. I have found myself yearning for more in my faith, but I was really struggling to fill that void. I am constantly caught between being Protestant and Catholic and it has essentially left me feeling homeless with respect to church. I am still going to mass, but I am also on a quest for answers. Thankfully, I think God has put the right people in my path at the right time, so my aunt really shed a lot of light on a lot of questions that I have always wondered. She also directed me to a lot of books that will hopefully help. I am really excited to see where this quest leads me, so I will definitely keep you posted!
Have a great holiday weekend!
