Havdalah Ceremony

My good friend Jacob, with whom I have shared my Berry Scholar classes and have been in Student Government for a while, invited a group of his friends to his havdalah ceremony at his house on campus. This was a unique experience for me, as I had never witnessed anything like this before. I have been to religious ceremonies, but this was very distinct. We all stood up and recited the biblical passages, then did three rituals that involved wine, spice smelling and candle lighting. Following the rituals we wished each other a good week. There was a small reception, with cookies and brownies and cake after the havdalah ceremony.
