Atlantic 10 Tournament11.17.2013 | Athletics
For my video production class we are able to earn extra credit points by filming athletic events. UD was chosen to host the Atlantic 10 men's soccer championship this past week. I was scheduled to film Thursday night, Friday night, and final game Sunday at noon. Thursday night, UD played LaSalle. Having previously won against them, on November 3, most thought UD would have it in the “goal”. The game was intense like always. After two over time periods and ending with penalty kicks, unfortunately, LaSalle took the win. Friday night was a cold one. At 5 p.m. I filmed the George Mason vs. VCU game. George Mason took the W advancing to the championship game on Sunday. At 7:30 I filmed LaSalle vs. St. Louis. St. Louis, the number one seat, took the win in this game, but LaSalle, the underdog held their own. Wrapping up around 11 p.m. I ventured back home. With my cheeks wind burnt as ever I was exhausted. Saturday while browsing the aisles of Barnes and Noble, I received an email from my teacher stating that the game, Sunday, has been moved earlier due to potential storms. Saturday, here at UD, I experienced my first tornado. With intense winds and rain showers, my prayers went to Baujan field. Sunday morning I checked my email and, as I expected, the game was moved to a different field. As much as I enjoyed the extra time to relax Sunday, I wanted to know who would end up winning the A-10 championship. George Mason ended up winning the game 1-0.
